Another reason for hope…

guluuniAfter more than two decades of conflict, signs of hope are appearing across northern Uganda.

In 2004, Gulu University opened with much speculation. How could a university in a war-torn area do well? However, last week, the first graduates of medicine and surgery left Gulu University. With only 1 doctor per 24,000 in Uganda, these graduates have been warmly welcomed into the community.

This is a great sign of the resilience found throughout northern Uganda. Although there is much more to do, northern Uganda is slowly flourishing and rebuilding.
