In October 2009, we were raising funds for a youth and cultural centre in northern Uganda. This holiday season, we are still trying to reach our goal for youth programming throughout the region.

The new youth and cultural centre will be home to a theatre, training/practice studios, dorms and will be a central hub of activity that will promote locally led approaches to arts, culture, justice and ultimately peace.

Having spent some time in Gulu and surrounding area helping advance medical clinics, I have some knowledgeof the situation soon after the LRA left. I do know it is yet a needy area. I see your hope to advance a youth and cultural center. Where will it be situated? Who will be working with you? What portion of your donations received actually go to those needing help? What percentage goes to administrative functions? I do have friends who are interested but need to know the answers to these questions and more. Thanks much. Ken Magee
