Last year, Chapel Hill participants not only provided a voice for peace in northern Uganda, their fundraising results helped towards the raising of over $500,000 for children's programs on the ground in the war-torn region. GuluWalk Chapel Hill is looking to provide even bigger and better support in 2007. Join in the push for peace!

GuluWalk Date: Sunday, October 28, 2007
Start Location: The Pit (center of UNC campus).
Registration Begins: 1:30pm
GuluWalk Start Time: 2:00pm
Walk Route: Through downtown Chapel Hill and neighboring Carrboro.
End Location: The Pit (center of UNC campus).
Distance: 6.8 miles
Post-walk Events: The walk will be followed with refreshments and conversation in the Pit.
Notes: Click here for directions to the campus. The Pit is surrounded by the Student Union, Student Stores, Lenoir Dining Hall, the Undergrad Library, and Davis Library. We recommend parking in Cobb Parking Deck, which you can turn into from Raleigh St., South Rd, and Country Club Rd. The address is 355 Paul Green Theatre Dr. To reach the Pit from the parking deck, cross Raleigh St. and walk between Davis Library and the Student Union.
Pre-GuluWalk Updates & Info
This year's walk will feature Dr. Okot Nyormoi, an NCCU professor from Gulu, Uganda. He will speak before the walk on the changing situation in Northern Uganda, and the shift in focus from child night commuting to the miserable conditions and high mortality in displacement camps.
