Athletes for Africa is now accepting team registrations for our second annual Rock the Pitch Charity Soccer Tournament! This one-of-a-kind event gives local sports fans a unique opportunity: to play a little footie with a collection of indie musicians, former professional soccer players and local media personalities in a fun-filled, action-packed, one-day tournament that raises funds for African youth.

Last year’s 5 v 5 Charity Soccer Tournament was a tremendous success.  With the help of Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, actor Michael Cera and members of Broken Social Scene and Bedouin Soundclash, we raised over $30,000 for  a youth centre in northern Uganda. And this year’s tournament promises to be even better.

* Top fundraising team gets first pick of their celebrity opponents and 2 passes to every Toronto show promoted by Collective Concerts

* Teams that raise more than $2500 will be entered in a draw for 12 VIP tickets to the Arcade Fire on Toronto Island, including a free water taxi ride

* All funds raised support local programs that strengthen communities, provide education and foster skills building for African youth
